History

A degree in History introduces students to intensive studies through specialized courses ranging from conspiracies to genealogy. With areas of focus in Western, American, world, and third-world history, students are prepared for graduate studies or for a career in a history-based field.

Along with the bachelor’s degree core curriculum, the degree in history requires a minimum of 36 semester hours in a student’s major field of study; at least 24 hours must be completed in upper-level courses.

Professors and faculty work with students in lecture-based courses with encouraged discussion. Students seeking a history degree will take classes that fulfill their academic goals, such as: World Civilization, United States History, and Historical Methods and Philosophy, along with several others.
